Living in 2017 so often feels like living in a nightmare that just WON'T END. So in an effort to stop anyone who's even remotely left-leaning (or concerned with the future of humanity) from literally departing to the next realm of existence (Canada) I thought I'd bring together some positivity... This is a big step for me... So in the spirit of self-care, let's get to it:
- Kate McKinnon is going to be in the new Magic School Bus
This is fantastic on MANY different levels. News of a Magic School Bus reboot is already music to my ears but to have the genius/angel/ unicorn that is Kate McKinnon being a part of it?? Truly bringing light into the darkness...
2. The Drag Race Spin-Offs
Ok, so it's not a secret that it's my sincere belief that we are living in the darkest timeline… BUT, there is at least one shining light in the darkness and that is that the ALYSSA EDWARDS REALITY SHOW ABOUT HER DANCE STUDIO IS HAPPENING. Ok, so it also includes Laganja, but odds are without the shady, shady edit/ high stress scenario of Drag Race my bet is he's going to be a delight (well, tolerable…).
BONUS POINTS: the flawless Detox is also getting a show, in which she will be rehabbing people's lives. I VOLUNTEER.
3. Reminder that people weren't always this awful
Well, they were, but some people weren't…
In a world where the British are seemingly trying to find any semblance of a moral high-ground we had left after LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF BEING THE WORST and burn it to the ground, get ready to be heart-warmed (read: weep uncontrollably) by this video of a man who took it upon himself to save lots of Jewish children during the Holocaust and how they all casually remind him he's a great guy. If only people didn't risk going to prison for that sort of thing now…
4. Kevin Smith is doing a Jay & Silent Bob Sequel
In other great news, comic-book-expert-and-best-friend-ever, Kevin Smith is doing a sequel to Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back. Apparently it is going to be somewhat of a take that to the concept of Reboots (can Sony maybe watch this film??) and I'm loving it already.
Let's all just ignore the crippling disappointment on the failure of Clerks 3 (who dropped out???? Why would you kill my dreams???) and get excited about what we DO have and that feels like a lot.
5. A Good Job, Well Done
And finally, I think we can all agree that if there's anyone in the world who deserves some time off and a few fun lols after finishing an infamously stressful job, it's this guy:
Let's all just live vicariously and try to get through another week...
LATERZ...
